On the eve of the 2008 US Open, Young claimed the biggest win of his career, winning the North American Darts Championship, earning
him $15,000. His performances made him the top ranked player in the North American Order of Merit, earning him a spot in

At the 2010 PDC World Darts Championship, Young defeated Andy Smith 3-2 in the first
round, before losing in thesecond round 4-0 to Terry Jenkins. Young was then a finalist in the 2010 North American Dart Championship, beating 1994 World Matchplay Darts champion Larry Butler before losing to former three-time world champion John Part in the final.
